Consumer Banking Officer / Payroll Lending Officer

About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site position located in Abuja. The Consumer Banking & Payroll Lending Officer will be responsible for loan origination, underwriting, and delivering exceptional customer service within our expanding team.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive acquisition of new customers for consumer banking and payroll lending products
• Build and manage strong relationships with employers, payroll partners, and individual clients
• Evaluate and process loan applications in accordance with credit policies
• Monitor loan performance, ensure timely repayments, and support recovery efforts
• Cross-sell other retail banking products including savings accounts, current accounts, and digital channels
• Provide financial advisory services and ensure excellent customer service delivery
• Maintain compliance with banking policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
• Prepare periodic reports on loan portfolio, customer acquisition, and performance metrics

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline
• 2–4 years' experience in retail/consumer banking, payroll lending, or credit operations
• Experience with loan origination and underwriting processes
• Strong knowledge of loan products, credit analysis, and risk management

Required Skills & Competencies

• Proven track record in sales, business development, and customer relationship management
• Excellent relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills
• Strong interpersonal and analytical abilities
• High level of integrity and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and core banking applications
• Ability to work in an on-site capacity in Abuja
