Computer Operator (Contract)

We are seeking an experienced professional for this opening. Position Overview:

• The Computer Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the organization's computer systems, performing regular maintenance, troubleshooting errors, and ensuring that systems are functioning optimally.

• This role involves monitoring network and server performance, maintaining records, and assisting users with technical issues.

Key Responsibilities: System Monitoring andMaintenance:

• Monitor computer systems, servers, and networks for errors or performance issues.

• Ensure backup processes are completed and maintain the integrity of data backups.

• Perform regular system checks and routine maintenance to prevent downtime.

Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to computer hardware, software, and network systems.

• Work closely with the IT team to resolve more complex problems and escalate when necessary.

• Log all issues, track their status, and update management on progress.

User Support:

• Provide basic technical support to end-users for computer system access, software applications, and hardware.

• Assist in setting up computers and peripheral equipment for new employees and office changes.

• Educate users on best practices to avoid technical issues.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain detailed records of system performance, incidents, and downtime.

• Document operational processes and create reports for management.

• Update software and hardware inventory as part of routine audits.

Data Management and Security:

• Monitor data center security and ensure data protection protocols are adhered to.

• Manage and maintain data storage and archiving processes in line with data retention policies.

• Implement and support data recovery procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in IT or computer science are a plus.

• Proven experience as a Computer Operator or in a similar technical role.

• Familiarity with various operating systems, network monitoring tools, and basic troubleshooting techniques.
