We are seeking an experienced professional for this opening.
Position Overview:
- The Computer Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the organization's computer systems, performing regular maintenance, troubleshooting errors, and ensuring that systems are functioning optimally.
- This role involves monitoring network and server performance, maintaining records, and assisting users with technical issues.
- Monitor computer systems, servers, and networks for errors or performance issues.
- Ensure backup processes are completed and maintain the integrity of data backups.
- Perform regular system checks and routine maintenance to prevent downtime.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to computer hardware, software, and network systems.
- Work closely with the IT team to resolve more complex problems and escalate when necessary.
- Log all issues, track their status, and update management on progress.
- Provide basic technical support to end-users for computer system access, software applications, and hardware.
- Assist in setting up computers and peripheral equipment for new employees and office changes.
- Educate users on best practices to avoid technical issues.
- Maintain detailed records of system performance, incidents, and downtime.
- Document operational processes and create reports for management.
- Update software and hardware inventory as part of routine audits.
- Monitor data center security and ensure data protection protocols are adhered to.
- Manage and maintain data storage and archiving processes in line with data retention policies.
- Implement and support data recovery procedures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in IT or computer science are a plus.
- Proven experience as a Computer Operator or in a similar technical role.
- Familiarity with various operating systems, network monitoring tools, and basic troubleshooting techniques.
