About the Role
A dynamic team at the Rehabilitation Empowerment and Better Health Initiative (REBHI) is expanding and seeking a talented Community Engagement Officer to join our mission in Lagos, Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with community members, leaders, local authorities, and stakeholders to ensure active participation and support for programs
- Coordinate and support the delivery of project activities, including training sessions, awareness campaigns, and events, ensuring cultural appropriateness and alignment with organizational goals
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to promote REBHI's mission and activities, actively engaging diverse community groups including youth, women, and marginalized populations
- Serve as a point of contact for community feedback, concerns, and complaints, ensuring two-way communication between the community and program management
- Conduct community assessments, track progress and impact of engagement activities, document success stories, and prepare regular reports for management and donors
- Facilitate training and provide mentorship to community volunteers, local partners, and community-based structures to enhance local capacity and program ownership
- Represent the organization at community-level forums and meetings, advocating for community needs and the program's mission to diverse audiences
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Communications, Public Health, or a related field
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in community development, mobilization, or a related field, preferably within a non-profit or humanitarian context
- Excellent communication skills
