About the Role
We are seeking a Community Development Officer to join our CommDev team at our station in Ondo, Ondo State. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth implementation of the CLMRS system, working directly with cocoa-growing communities to combat child labour and promote community welfare through digital tools and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct continuous digital data collection using the CLMT tool and support VSLA activities
- Verify and document identified cases of child labour within our supply chain
- Implement remediation activities with cocoa-growing households affected by child labour
- Conduct awareness and training sessions on child protection at household and community levels
- Establish and monitor Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs)
- Perform follow-up visits and ongoing monitoring of households to ensure sustained progress
- Support training of child labour liaison officers in the Assess and Address Committee
- Collaborate with other field officers and project teams on relevant activities
- Report all field activities and collected data to the CommDev Project Manager
- Perform additional duties as directed by the CommDev Project Manager
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or University Degree in Agricultural Science, Social Sciences, Social Work, Humanities, Education, or related fields
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in social issues, community development, data collection, or child labour monitoring
- Fluency in local dialects (Yoruba and/or Pidgin English)
- Computer literacy with ability to use basic digital data collection tools
