Civil Engineer - Entry Level

About the Role

Goteh Construction seeks a qualified Civil Engineer (Entry Level) to assist in overseeing the design, construction, and maintenance of physical and infrastructural projects. You will support work across diverse sectors including roads, bridges, canals, dams, buildings, power plants, and water and sewage systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive day-to-day field supervision at construction sites, ensuring all work meets quality standards in compliance with design specifications, drawings, budget, and schedule
• Assist in conducting technical and feasibility studies and site investigations to establish effective and efficient project execution
• Identify and resolve project design and development problems
• Recommend measures to enhance operational improvement and efficiency opportunities
• Coordinate field work, including contract work, to ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, specifications, and codes
• Identify and implement construction-specific improvement opportunities
• Test building materials for quality and provide cost estimates and labour requirements for each project
• Assess environmental impact and risks associated with projects
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal government regulations, standards, and procedures

Required Qualifications

• First Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university
• Minimum 3 years' post-NYSC experience in construction and project execution
• Ability to work collaboratively with design engineers, clients, and contractors
• Proficiency with CAD packages
• Excellent time management skills to handle competing priorities

Desirable Qualifications

• Membership with the Nigerian Society of Engineers and COREN
• Professional certification with an internationally recognized engineering body (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2)
