About the Role

An established company is recruiting a Civil Engineer to join its team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing civil engineering projects from conception through completion, while collaborating with stakeholders, architects, contractors, and surveyors.

Key Responsibilities

• Consult with and provide guidance to project stakeholders and managerial staff regarding engineering requirements for construction of various designs, modifications, and structural repairs
• Use design software and drawing tools to accurately render and communicate designs; plan and design related systems and structures, such as transportation or hydraulics
• Assess the strength of foundations, concrete, asphalt, or steel by testing materials and soil
• Set design specifications by computing load and grade requirements, material stress factors, water flow rates, and similar parameters
• Plan projects based on analysis of relevant materials such as drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, survey reports, maps, and geologic and topographical data
• Draft and present reports on project-related topics, including environmental impact statements and right-of-way descriptions
• Estimate materials, equipment, and labor needed to determine project costs
• Collaborate with architects and contractors to ensure projects progress properly
• Collaborate with surveyors (or direct and participate in surveying) to establish installations, reference points, grades, elevations, and other factors affecting construction
• Monitor project progress and ensure design specifications, safety, and sanitation standards are met
• Inspect, repair, and maintain structures upon project completion as needed
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (required)
• Master's Degree in Civil Engineering (preferred)
• 5–8 years of professional experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure (required)

Required Skills

• Thorough understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools
• Proficiency in computer-assisted design (CAD) and other design and data recording software
