## Title: Chartered Accountant
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join Hospital For Trauma and Surgery in Lagos, Nigeria as a Chartered Accountant.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare comprehensive financial statements for hospital operations, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
- Analyze financial data, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify discrepancies and monitor financial performance
- Provide financial insights to management for informed decision-making
- Conduct detailed cost reporting, including calculating the cost of medical procedures, services, and departments to identify efficiency improvements and cost reduction opportunities
- Prepare and submit financial reports to state and federal regulatory agencies, third-party payers, and other external stakeholders in compliance with healthcare-specific regulations
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Assist in the development and preparation of the hospital's annual operating and capital budgets in collaboration with department heads and administrators
- Monitor departmental and hospital-wide expenditures against budget allocations
- Investigate variances and report on financial outcomes
- Conduct financial forecasting and risk analysis to support strategic planning and ensure future financial stability
General Accounting and Record Keeping
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, account ledgers, and subsidiary accounts
- Prepare and enter monthly or recurring journal entries
- Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile various accounts
- Oversee or directly manage accounts payable (vendor invoices) and accounts receivable (patient/payer billing) processes
Revenue Cycle Management and Billing
- Monitor, balance, and manage patient accounts and billing processes
