Billing Officer at Benin Electricity Distribution Plc. (BEDC)

About the Role

Benin Electricity Distribution Plc. (BEDC) is seeking a qualified Billing Officer to join our team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this role, you will be responsible for managing billing operations, ensuring accuracy in bill generation, and maintaining compliance with established billing procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform data entry into the Billing System, including payments, adjustments, and meter readings
• Ensure accurate bill generation and printing within approved timelines
• Manage customer information database in the billing system
• Provide commercial and data-driven advisory support to regions
• Ensure compliance with existing billing standard operating procedures
• Conduct pre-billing reviews with Business Units and regions
• Manage Customer Records Maintenance Documents (CRMD) and Customer Accounts Adjustment Documents (CAAD)
• Generate post-billing reports for Business Units and regions
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the line supervisor

Required Qualifications

• B.Eng, BSc, or HND in Computer Science, Engineering, or Analytical Sciences
• Minimum 0–2 years of experience in billing or related roles
• Strong understanding of power sector value chains
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong data interpretation and reporting skills (proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and Power BI)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
