Barge Master at Uniterm Nigeria Limited

Position Overview

We are recruiting a Barge Master to join our team. You will be overall responsible for the safe and efficient execution of all marine activities, including operation and maintenance of deck systems, marine equipment (including jacking and anchor systems), safety equipment, and non-drilling related lifting equipment. You will oversee structural integrity of the unit and its systems, supervise all cargo transfers, ballasting adjustments, and loading compensation while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure operations are planned, organized, supervised and executed in accordance with well programs, rig move plans, client requirements and contractual obligations
• Maintain adequate inventory levels for equipment under your area of responsibility and order stock in a timely and cost-effective manner
• Coordinate supply vessels, helicopter logistics and other vessel activities involving the rig
• Supervise crew change by boat or helicopter in your capacity as Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO)
• Conduct appraisals for subordinates and complete other tasks as requested by Rig Management
• Work with assigned assessor to complete the Competence Management System and identify areas for development, providing demonstrable evidence to support outcomes

Required Qualifications and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent education as a minimum
• Minimum of 8 years of oilfield experience
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in the Barge Master role onboard an offshore installation
• Offshore Survival certification (OPITO BOSIET/FOET)
• Offshore Medical certification (OEUK)
