Automotive Maintenance Engineer at Remedial Health

About the Role

An established company is seeking an experienced Automotive Maintenance Engineer to oversee maintenance operations across multiple warehouse locations in Lagos, Nigeria. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive maintenance strategies, supervising maintenance teams, and ensuring compliance with all safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement maintenance schedules for equipment, machinery, and facilities to ensure smooth operations across all warehouses
• Supervise and lead maintenance staff across all locations to ensure timely execution of tasks and adherence to safety standards
• Conduct regular inspections of automobiles and equipment to identify and resolve issues proactively
• Manage repair and replacement processes for faulty or outdated machinery and systems
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all maintenance activities
• Oversee the procurement of maintenance supplies and parts, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs
• Coordinate with other departments to address maintenance needs and minimize operational disruptions
• Develop strategies for energy efficiency and cost savings in facility operations
• Troubleshoot complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime
• Monitor maintenance budgets and control expenses to ensure efficiency
• Manage relationships with external contractors and vendors across Nigeria for specialized maintenance services

Required Qualifications

• BSc in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in maintenance management of automobiles with a proven track record of managing vehicles and equipment
• Strong knowledge of vehicle spare parts and dealers
• Proficiency in maintenance management systems and tools
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and compliance requirements
• Proficiency with MS Office
