Auto-Mobile Programmer/Diagnostic Technician

Position Overview

The Automobile Programmer/Diagnostic Technician is responsible for vehicle electronic diagnostics, system programming, fault detection, and calibration of automobile control units. The role supports vehicle production, assembly, testing, quality assurance, and after-sales support by ensuring that all electronic and computerized systems function optimally according to manufacturer and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Diagnostics & Programming

• Perform electronic diagnostics on vehicles using OEM and advanced diagnostic tools
• Identify, analyze, and resolve faults in vehicle electronic systems (ECU, BCM, ABS, airbag, transmission, infotainment, etc.)
• Carry out ECU coding, programming, flashing, and calibration for new and repaired vehicles
• Reset fault codes and validate repairs through road tests and system checks

Production & Assembly Support

• Support vehicle assembly processes by programming newly installed control modules
• Ensure proper configuration of electronic systems during vehicle build-up and commissioning
• Collaborate with production teams to resolve electronic and software-related assembly issues

Quality Control & Compliance

• Conduct pre-delivery inspections (PDI) focusing on electronic and diagnostic checks
• Ensure vehicles meet internal quality standards and manufacturer specifications
• Maintain accurate diagnostic records and service reports for traceability

Tools, Software & Documentation

• Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment and programming tools
• Update vehicle software and firmware in line with manufacturer releases
• Prepare technical reports on recurring faults and corrective actions

Training & Continuous Improvement

• Support training of technicians on diagnostic tools and electronic systems
• Keep up to date with emerging automobile technologies, EV systems, and advanced driver-assistance systems
