Associate, Data Analytics at Africa Finance Corporation (AFC)

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as an Associate, Data Analytics. You will be responsible for backtesting model outputs against outcomes and driving continuous improvement in model performance across our organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Information Technology teams to develop and deliver functional, tailored software-based information management solutions that enhance predictive analytics models
• Develop and maintain data warehouse infrastructure for storing and retrieval of structured and unstructured data
• Maintain and improve the intranet platform for firm-wide risk management training
• Utilize statistical techniques and programming languages to analyze large datasets and identify potential risks
• Contribute to the development of dashboards and visualization tools for effective communication of risk metrics
• Work with risk managers and portfolio managers to prepare risk assessments and quarterly monitoring reports (QMR), taking actions informed by data analysis to protect AFC's investments
• Collaborate with portfolio managers and risk managers to ensure timely submission of critical information to the monitoring committee for all assets in the risk assurance portfolio
• Support the credit administration function in limit maintenance and ensure risk factors are appropriately measured and monitored in risk models
• Support the market risk management function in measuring and monitoring market risks for internal committees and board reporting
• Collaborate with the environmental and social risk management function to periodically estimate impact and vulnerabilities of AFC's investments
• Conduct monthly Know Your Customer (KYC) checks for all ongoing transaction parties
• Support the management of climate change risks and impact metrics for AFC's portfolio

Required Qualifications

• University degree with emphasis on mathematics, artificial intelligence, data analytics, or other quantitative discipline
