Assistant Team Lead – Power Plant Mechanical Engineer at BU Power Limited

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Team Lead – Power Plant Mechanical Engineer to support the operation and maintenance of gas-fired power plants. The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience with MWM CG170 and CAT G3520 generator sets and the ability to support team leadership and plant reliability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising the operation and maintenance of MWM CG170 and CAT G3520 gas engines
• Carry out routine, preventive, and corrective mechanical maintenance activities
• Support troubleshooting of mechanical faults on engines, auxiliaries, and balance of plant
• Ensure compliance with safety, operational, and maintenance procedures
• Assist in coordinating technicians and contractors during maintenance activities
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports

Skills & Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3–5 years of experience in power plant mechanical operations and maintenance
• Proven hands-on experience with MWM CG170 and CAT G3520 engines
• Strong knowledge of gas engine mechanical systems, auxiliaries, and rotating equipment
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and manuals
• Good troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills
• Relevant professional certifications (an added advantage)
