About the Role

An established company is seeking an Accounts Officer to join their finance team. This position involves managing accounting processes, ensuring compliance with Nigerian tax regulations, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities

• Calculate VAT, PAYE, WHT, pension contributions, and other taxable items in accordance with Nigerian law
• Ensure the effectiveness of the accounts payable process, including document verification, cost analysis, approvals, and payments
• Liaise with customers, vendors, bankers, consultants, FIRS/LIRS, and other government officials for data and related matters
• Respond promptly to information requests and resolve issues efficiently
• Address client queries on invoicing and visit clients when required
• Follow up on payments and bill submissions
• Provide necessary documentation and support during internal audits
• Maintain organized records and ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions
• Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts
• Manage invoices and ensure payments are processed according to company policies
• Manage data and vendor relationships

Required Qualifications

• B.Sc or HND in Accounting or related field
• 2-3 years of relevant experience
