Accounts Officer at Genesis Group Nigeria Limited

About the Role

Genesis Group Nigeria Limited is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Officer to manage financial operations across our outlets in Lagos. This position involves recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports to support management decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Record and reconcile daily sales from POS and cash registers across outlets
• Prepare and post journal entries, invoices, and receipts into accounting software
• Monitor and reconcile cash, bank, and petty cash balances
• Track and process vendor payments, staff reimbursements, and utility bills
• Support monthly stock count and reconcile inventory variances with the store and kitchen teams
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial summaries for management
• Assist in budget preparation, cost control, and expense monitoring
• Ensure timely remittance of statutory deductions (e.g., VAT, PAYE, pension)
• Support internal and external audits with required documentation
• Maintain proper filing and safeguarding of financial records

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2 - 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a Quick Service Restaurant or retail environment
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
