Underwriting Executive - Insurance

An Insurance Underwriting Executive evaluates, analyzes, and accepts or rejects insurance risks to maintain a profitable portfolio. Key responsibilities include reviewing applications, calculating premiums, determining policy terms/conditions, and collaborating with agents or brokers to ensure compliance with company guidelines and regulations. Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Risk Analysis: Evaluate new and renewal insurance applications by analyzing financial status, background information, and risk exposure to determine insurability.

• Policy Issuance: Calculate, set, and communicate premiums, and define specific terms, conditions, or exclusions for policies.

• Compliance & Guidelines: Ensure all underwriting decisions comply with company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards.

• Relationship Management: Liaise with brokers, agents, and clients to obtain information, negotiate terms, and explain coverage decisions.

• Data Management: Utilize specialized software to review files, manage renewals, and maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions.

• Portfolio Management: Monitor loss ratios to ensure profitability and suggest improvements to underwriting guidelines.
