Position Overview
This role is designed for a high-potential individual eager to learn the commercial side of the construction and engineering industry. The Trainee Business Development Support Staff will work closely with the Business Development Team Lead to identify new opportunities, support the bidding process, and maintain client relationships. This position offers excellent opportunities for career growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor daily newspapers, government portals, and industry platforms for new tenders and Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
- Conduct research on potential clients, competitors, and industry trends within the Nigerian construction landscape
- Assist in the collation of mandatory corporate documents (COI, Tax Clearance, PenCom, ITF, etc.) for bid submissions
- Help organize and package technical and financial proposals to ensure they meet specific client requirements
- Maintain a library of past project portfolios and case studies for use in future bids
- Track the status of submitted bids and maintain an organized filing system for all business development activities
- Assist in preparing weekly and monthly business development progress reports
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field
- NYSC members with high aptitude are encouraged to apply
- Excellent writing skills with ability to draft clear emails and assist in writing formal proposals
- High proficiency in internet research and professional networking platforms (LinkedIn)
- Strong knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Exceptional attention to detail, critical for ensuring tender documents are submitted without errors
- Proactive attitude and self-starter mentality with ability to work independently
