Technical Auditing Engineer III

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced professional to provide technical auditing services for geophysical operations. You will serve as an independent technical authority, providing guidance and advice on technical aspects of geophysical sources, sensors, positioning, and recording systems prior to field operations commencement.

Main Functions

• Conduct comprehensive audits of seismic contractor energy source and recording equipment to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and Company requirements
• Provide guidance and advice on technical aspects of geophysical sources, sensors, positioning, and recording systems
• Operate as a stand-alone technical auditor, independent of QC team structures

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Verify that vendors and their subcontractors' sources, sensors, positioning, and recording systems adhere to manufacturer specifications, contract requirements, and industry standards
• Communicate technical, operational, and SSH&E concerns and issues to Company office personnel to ensure project proceeds according to Company standards
• Coordinate testing and verification of field equipment with vendors and their subcontractors
• Adhere to SSH&E project requirements
• Report on perceived limitations and assess the readiness of vendor crews and equipment to commence field operations

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience in technical auditing for the type of equipment proposed; Company experience preferred
• Advanced technical knowledge of geophysical systems and equipment proposed by vendors for surveys
• Technical expertise to monitor and advise on data acquisition aspects including logistics, operations, sensors, sources, instrumentation, equipment, recording, and positioning
• Comprehensive knowledge of SSH&E practices and processes for field operations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
• High level of integrity and commitment to building trust and accountability in interpersonal relationships
• Ability to work effectively in team settings
