Team Lead, Financial Control at Bosak Microfinance Bank Limited

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to lead the financial control function at Bosak Microfinance Bank Limited in Lagos, Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable and general ledger management
• Prepare monthly management accounts, income statements, and balance sheet reviews
• Conduct weekly and monthly bank reconciliations
• Manage treasury and cash flow to ensure liquidity
• Prepare monthly journals and general ledger reconciliations
• Maintain and update the fixed asset register
• Ensure prompt posting of transactions and accuracy of financial records
• Prepare and submit CBN regulatory monthly and annual reports
• Handle PAYE and WHT remittances and documentation
• Liaise with tax consultants, regulatory authorities, and external auditors
• Coordinate and support internal and external audit exercises
• Conduct financial analysis to support management decision-making
• Lead, mentor, and supervise finance team members
• Raise internal memos and support process improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory guidelines

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
• ACA/ICAN or ACCA qualification (or in view) is mandatory
• Minimum of 5 years' cognate experience in financial control, accounting, or audit within a bank or microfinance institution
• Sound knowledge of CBN regulatory framework and microfinance bank operations
• Strong understanding of IFRS, GAAP, and financial reporting standards
• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and regulatory compliance

• Strong leadership, analytical, and risk-awareness skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and core banking/accounting systems
