Overview
The Federal Ministry of Works is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for motivated professionals to join the Capacity Building and On-Site Training Programme. This initiative aims to engage unemployed skilled artisans across all Local Government Areas in Nigeria.
This programme represents a key intervention of the Federal Ministry of Works, aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda, focused on strengthening national technical capacity, empowering young Nigerians, and supporting the delivery of critical infrastructure projects across the country.
Through this initiative, participants will receive hands-on training, mentorship, and project-based exposure while contributing to the execution of ongoing Federal Government construction and infrastructure works. Eligible applicants will be deployed to contractors handling Federal Ministry of Works projects within or near their respective regions for structured practical training and temporary engagement.
Programme Objectives
- Equip young artisans with hands-on experience in modern construction methods
- Build a sustainable local talent pipeline for Nigeria's infrastructure development
- Reduce youth unemployment through structured, short-term engagement
- Strengthen project delivery by integrating trained local support personnel
- Enhance professional competence and employability through transfer of modern construction technology
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet all of the following requirements:
- Be a Nigerian citizen aged 18 to 45 years
- Possess recognized vocational training, trade test certificates, or verifiable practical experience
- Be unemployed at the time of application
- Be physically fit for construction-related field work
- Be willing to undergo additional training, safety certification, and supervised project attachment
