## Title: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher

About the Role

The SEN Teacher will plan and deliver high-quality lessons tailored to meet the individual learning needs of pupils with special educational needs. The successful candidate will assess pupils' progress, implement appropriate interventions, and foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere. The role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to promote each pupil's development and well-being, ensuring alignment with the school's vision for inclusion and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver differentiated lessons to meet the individual needs of SEN pupils
  • Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure targets are effectively implemented
  • Assess and monitor pupils' progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed
  • Provide targeted interventions and utilise appropriate resources and assistive technologies
  • Support the social, emotional, and behavioural development of pupils in collaboration with parents and support staff
  • Work closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), class teachers, and external professionals to coordinate support and interventions
  • Maintain accurate records and provide regular progress reports to parents and relevant stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of whole-school inclusion policies and initiatives
  • Participate in continuous professional development to stay informed of best practices in SEN education

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification
  • At least three years of teaching experience, including supporting pupils with special educational needs
  • Understanding of SEN frameworks, educational psychology principles, and inclusion strategies
  • Ability to design and deliver differentiated and engaging lessons
  • Effective communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
