## Title: Sonologist
Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified Sonologist to join our team at Echolab Radiology and Laboratory Services in Mainland, Lagos.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare exam rooms and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with facility Standard Operating Procedures and patient safety protocols
- Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information
- Verify that sonography examination orders are complete, contain relevant information, and meet medical necessity standards
- Prepare and safely position patients using proper positioning tools, devices, and ergonomically correct scanning techniques to ensure patient comfort, safety, and optimal image quality
- Assume responsibility for patient safety throughout the sonographic examination
- Evaluate contraindications, insufficient patient preparation, and patient tolerance levels; provide appropriate support and reassurance while communicating effectively with patients
- Conduct diagnostic medical sonography examinations as ordered by the supervising physician in accordance with professional and facility protocols
- Apply independent professional judgment, ethical standards, and critical thinking to safely perform diagnostic sonography procedures and accurately capture anatomical, pathological, and clinical conditions in examination images
- Acquire additional ultrasound imaging as required to facilitate optimum diagnostic results for the interpreting physician
- Review examination images and results; report preliminary findings and document any examination limitations
- Document and report incidental findings that may impact patient safety or care to the interpreting physician
- Ensure all sonography examination results meet facility quality standards
