Server and Storage (UNIX) Administrator

Position Overview

We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Server and Storage (UNIX) Administrator. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization's UNIX server and storage infrastructure.

This role ensures high system availability, data integrity, and performance across critical enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in AIX UNIX systems, IBM Power machines, enterprise storage solutions, and backup strategies to support business operations efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain AIX UNIX servers and IBM Power systems
• Manage enterprise storage solutions and perform capacity planning
• Configure, monitor, and maintain backup solutions using IBM Spectrum Protect
• Perform system upgrades, patches, and troubleshooting of UNIX servers and storage
• Monitor server and storage performance, ensuring high availability and reliability
• Implement security measures and access controls for servers and storage systems
• Document system configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions
• Collaborate with IT, operations, and business teams to optimize server and storage performance
• Assist in disaster recovery planning and execution for critical systems

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Relevant certifications in UNIX administration, IBM Power systems, or enterprise storage solutions (advantageous)

Technical Competencies

• Expertise in AIX UNIX administration and IBM Power systems
• Experience managing enterprise storage systems and SAN/NAS solutions
• Knowledge of IBM Spectrum Protect backup and recovery solutions
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills for UNIX servers and storage
• Understanding of system security, access control, and disaster recovery practices
