Senior Structural Engineer

About the Role

Join a leading organization in a pivotal role providing structural support for tenders and offshore projects. This position requires specialist skills, integrity, and in-depth knowledge of structural engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements, and current good engineering practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide structural stability and integrity calculations for subsea structures
• Design structures to resist forces under in-service, installation, and transportation load conditions
• Determine size, shape, strength, and type of structural members
• Produce and check design documentation including feasibility reports, detailed design reports, and equipment specifications
• Create specifications, data sheets, and material takeoff (MTOs)
• Coordinate structural engineering support for multi-discipline projects in line with defined budgets and schedules
• Provide specialist structural engineering assistance during offshore or site working periods as required
• Contribute to bid clarifications, kickoff meetings, design reviews, and other project events
• Perform concept and detail design of offshore fit-for-purpose lifting arrangements and steel structures, including lifting appliances, lift points, lift arrangements, grillage, and sea fastening
• Conduct structural strength verification analyses, including advanced non-linear Finite Element Analysis using software packages such as SACS
• Review structural deliverables including construction reports and drawings
• Perform quality control on deliverables prepared by colleagues
• Complete all assigned engineering deliverables in a timely manner
• Provide engineering support during project execution phases (fabrication and offshore operations)
• Make calculations regarding pressures, loads, and stresses
• Assess the strength of construction materials and recommend appropriate selections
• Ensure adherence to Company Management System (CMS) as applicable
