Senior Structural Design Engineer at Dover Engineering Limited

Job Purpose / Objective

To be part of the Civil/Structural discipline group within the organization and provide leadership and technical assurance for the design, inspection, maintenance, and modification of civil structures. Ensure the reliability and availability of these structures at optimal whole lifecycle costs in line with company objectives and business plan.

Principal Responsibilities

• Lead and manage civil and structural tasks/projects from start to finish by providing technical guidance regarding civil infrastructure design, construction, modifications, and structural repairs
• Proactively coordinate with maintenance and project engineers to ensure all civil-related matters are addressed and in compliance with service level agreements (SLAs)
• Support the implementation of Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) methodology for civil infrastructure assets (concrete and steel) to ensure effectiveness and optimization of assigned maintenance strategies
• Facilitate the review of inspection findings for civil structures and ensure risk view is available as input to the Civil Integrity Status Report (CISR)
• Assess customer requirements and site feasibility; oversee review of final designs through inputs into structural designs to ensure conformity to company design criteria, specifications, constructability, and maintainability
• Assure all engineered scaffolding is designed and installed according to applicable company procedures, industry standards, and codes
• Perform structural analysis and design for asset integrity assessment and life extension; apply principles of structural reliability to properly define appropriate design rules for civil infrastructure
• Undertake frontend engineering studies as required to identify and develop performance improvement changes or scope of work
