Senior Network Engineer at Layer3

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities required to fulfill and support network services to enterprise customers. Your role will encompass the management of existing and development of new network infrastructure systems, as well as managing system and network administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide extensive hands-on engineering level support on switching and routing technologies including BGP, OSPF, MPLS/VPLS, spanning tree protocols (MSTP, RSTP), 802.1x, 802.11, 802.16, VPN, DMVPN, SDN, VRRP/HSRP, WAN Acceleration, QoS, VoIP, VTC, cloud, and automation technologies
• Analyze and troubleshoot network communications failures and bottlenecks
• Analyze system logs to identify potential issues and troubleshoot reported network problems
• Execute switching tasks including VTP, ISL/802.1q, IPSec and GRE Tunneling, VLANs, Ether Channel, Trunking, Port Security, STP, and RSTP
• Configure LAN/WAN/WLAN links using VSI/L2VC for MPLS L2VPN and be available for on-call duties as needed
• Understand and assist in technical strategies for the design, configuration, and maintenance of LAN, WAN, and wireless networks to ensure stability, integrity, and operational effectiveness
• Participate in the design and configuration of internal and external networks as required for assigned projects
• Supervise IP/MPLS services implementation, including installations, testing, and handover
• Perform proactive corrective maintenance for IP/MPLS networks
• Develop automation and internal systems and tools to support IP/MPLS network operations and integration activities
• Manage network planning, configuration, and implementation
• Design and develop routing topology for Core, Access, Metro, and Edge networks
