Senior Accountant at ACO Nigeria

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Senior Accountant to oversee the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance functions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, a solid understanding of Nigerian tax regulations, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full cycle accounting including payables, receivables, bank reconciliations, and ledgers
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and management reports
• Maintain compliance with Nigerian tax laws, IFRS, and company policy
• Oversee budgeting, cost control, and variance analysis
• Monitor project-level financial performance for solar installations and supply contracts
• Support audits, investor reporting, and tender-related financial submissions
• Supervise junior accountants and ensure accuracy of entries and reports

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience
• ICAN or ACCA certification preferred
• Strong understanding of IFRS and Nigerian tax laws and regulatory compliance
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Experience in energy, engineering, or project-based industries is an advantage
