Position Overview
An established company is recruiting a Security Engineer specialized in force entry and blast-resistant doors and security infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and engineer blast-resistant and force-entry resistant doors and security systems
- Evaluate and implement security features including wedge barriers, arm barriers, fences, and vehicle impact resistance
- Assess and rate the impact resistance capabilities of security installations
- Develop protective design solutions meeting international security standards
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in one of the following fields:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Civil/Structural Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Security Engineering / Security Technology
- Materials Engineering
Master's Degree (MSc / MEng) - Optional but Highly Valued
- Structural Engineering (with focus on blast/impact)
- Protective Design / Security Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering (strength of materials, impact dynamics)
Professional Certifications
While not always mandatory, the following certifications significantly strengthen a candidate's profile:
Security & Protective Design:
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP) – ASIS International
- Physical Security Professional (PSP) – ASIS International
- Anti-Terrorism Level II/III (if working with defense or government)
- Blast Analysis / Protective Design Certifications (e.g., from USACE, DoD, Dstl)
Engineering Certifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) / Chartered Engineer (CEng) (depending on country)
- AutoCAD / SolidWorks / Revit proficiency certification
Technical Expertise Required
- Forced-entry and blast-resistant design
- Knowledge of FE/BR (Forced Entry & Ballistic Resistance) standards
- Understanding of UFC, ASTM, ISO, and EN standards
Preferred Experience
- International organization experience
- Embassy or government security projects
