Our client, a fast-growing FMCG company in Abuja, is seeking an energetic and results-driven Sales Manager who will be responsible for driving sales growth, market penetration, and distribution effectiveness within the assigned territory. The role involves leading the sales team, managing
distributors and key accounts, executing sales strategies, and ensuring achievement of volume, revenue, and market share targets in line with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement territory sales plans aligned with company sales targets.
- Drive volume, value, and revenue growth across all FMCG product categories.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing dynamics to inform sales strategies.
- Ensure effective route-to-market execution, including direct sales and distributor channels.
- Recruit, manage, and evaluate distributors, wholesalers, and key retail partners.
- Ensure optimal product availability, visibility, and merchandising across all outlets.
- Monitor distributor stock levels, sell-in and sell-out performance.
- Resolve trade issues and maintain strong trade relationships.
- Lead, coach, and supervise Sales Executives, Territory Sales Officers, and merchandisers.
- Set individual sales targets and monitor performance against KPIs.
- Conduct regular field visits, market audits, and performance reviews.
- Build a high-performance sales culture focused on accountability and results.
- Manage key accounts, modern trade, and institutional customers where applicable.
- Negotiate trade terms, promotions, and volume deals in line with company policy.
- Ensure effective execution of trade promotions and campaigns.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
- Track sales performance, collections, and outstanding receivables.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to ensure smooth order
