Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer to oversee and implement safety policies within our organisation. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with local and international HSE regulations, conduct risk assessments, and promote a culture of safety. Key Responsibilities

• Investigate workplace accidents, near-misses, or environmental incidents, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure a safe working environment
• Ensure emergency response systems, policies, and procedures are in place to manage emergencies and are maintained
• Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety audits on construction sites
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international HSE regulations and industry best practices
• Design and deliver safety training programs for employees, including warehouse staff, drivers, and office personnel, covering topics such as fire safety and emergency response procedures
• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols
• Monitor safety metrics, track incidents, and prepare reports on HSE performance
• Conduct emergency drills and implement emergency response plans
• Organize safety trainings, toolbox meetings, safety talks, and onboarding sessions for new staff
• Drive continuous improvement in HSE performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote safety initiatives and ensure the integration of safety practices into daily operations

Requirements

• HND qualification or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Science, or related Social Science course
• Minimum of 3 years of HSE experience, preferably in the Transportation Industry
