Safety and Security Officer at Ochel and Tehora Foods Limited

Job Brief

We are looking for a diligent Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises, assets, and personnel. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies and security threats.

Responsibilities

• Patrol and monitor premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, vandalism, or other security threats
• Enforce access control procedures and verify the identity of individuals entering the premises
• Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents promptly and appropriately
• Conduct security checks and inspections of designated areas
• Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems
• Maintain accurate records of security-related activities, incidents, and observations
• Provide assistance and support to employees and visitors as needed
• Report any security breaches, safety hazards, or suspicious activities to management
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and emergency services as required
• Follow security protocols, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies

Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in security is a plus
• Proven experience as a security officer or related role
• Preferred: ex-military, police, civil defence, or para-military background with discharge certificate
• Strong observation and surveillance skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in stressful situations
• Physical fitness and ability to perform security-related tasks
• Knowledge of security protocols and procedures
• Attention to detail and accuracy in reporting
• Integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive information
• Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
