Restaurant Manager at Genesis Group

About the Position

Genesis Group is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee all aspects of restaurant operations in Lagos, Nigeria. This role requires a dynamic leader capable of managing both front-of-house and back-of-house operations while maintaining high standards of customer service, food quality, and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage front-of-house (service) and back-of-house (kitchen) operations to ensure efficient and welcoming dining experiences
• Handle customer complaints, inquiries, and build strong patron relationships
• Recruit, interview, hire, train, and schedule employees
• Monitor staff performance, conduct appraisals, and address disciplinary issues
• Maximize profitability by monitoring budgets, managing payroll, and analyzing sales data
• Optimize operational costs and prepare daily or weekly reports on staff, food, and sales performance
• Oversee food and beverage inventory and manage vendor relationships
• Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and adherence to safety standards
• Maintain health, safety, and hygiene standards in strict compliance with sanitation regulations and local licensing laws

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Previous experience in restaurant management or as an assistant manager
• Strong knowledge of food service operations
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and manage a team effectively
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interactions with staff, customers, and suppliers
• Ability to handle high-pressure, fast-paced situations and resolve conflicts effectively
• Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management software, and scheduling tools
• Understanding of budgeting, P&L statements, and cost control

• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
