About the Role
As a Quality Control Officer in the plastics industry, you will inspect raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products to ensure they meet strict quality, safety, and regulatory standards. You will use measurement tools and testing methods, document defects, train staff, and collaborate on continuous process improvements to minimize waste and enhance product reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual and dimensional checks, durability tests, and functional assessments on plastic materials and finished goods
- Verify products meet company specifications, industry regulations, and customer requirements
- Maintain detailed records, prepare reports on quality KPIs, and log non-conformities for traceability
- Oversee production stages, identify issues in machinery or workflows, and ensure adherence to quality protocols
- Investigate defects, identify root causes, and work with production teams on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Train production staff on quality standards and proper inspection techniques
- Participate in quality improvement teams, develop new procedures, and suggest ways to optimize processes and reduce waste
Essential Skills & Knowledge
- Understanding of plastics, materials science, and manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding)
- Proficiency with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers) and inspection equipment
- Knowledge of quality systems (ISO) and regulatory standards
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities
Position Details
- Location: Lagos, Nigeria
- Salary: ₦100,000 – ₦150,000
- Work Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Day and Night Shift)
