Project / Design Engineer at Royal Power and Energy Limited

About the Role

We are seeking a Project/Design Engineer to join our expanding team. You will play a central coordinating role across multiple solar power projects while managing both design and field execution responsibilities. You will work with internal and external teams to ensure seamless project delivery across locally and regional sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct audits, design installations, and execute complete solar power solutions
• Assess customer energy consumption and cost profiles accurately; size solar systems optimally
• Design solar systems (rooftop, ground-mounted, mini-grid) based on customer requirements
• Perform site feasibility assessments and recommend the best solutions to enhance suitability
• Evaluate space requirements, layouts, and schematic diagrams for solar panels and electrical equipment
• Select appropriate cables and perform technical sizing calculations; prepare BOQs and BOMs
• Conduct energy audits using portable instruments such as power analysers and data loggers
• Coordinate with internal and external teams for seamless project execution across multiple sites at various development and construction stages
• Manage document submissions, drawings, approvals, and scheduling of inspections
• Prepare standardized checklists for review of all standards and procedures
• Execute end-to-end project delivery from design to commissioning and maintenance/service support
• Oversee transformation of designs from paper into field installation
• Provide technical direction and support to installation teams during installation, startup, testing, system commissioning, and performance monitoring
• Troubleshoot installation-related issues
• Provide weekly/fortnightly status reports and dashboards

Requirements

• Develop and implement standard operating procedures and quality/safety standards for solar installation work
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously at various development stages
• Strong technical knowledge of solar system design and electrical principles
• Experience with site assessments and equipment sizing
• Proficiency in project documentation and coordination
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and locations
