Procurement Officer at LMN Logistics

About the Role

An established company is recruiting a Procurement Officer to manage sourcing, vendor relationships, and procurement operations for a logistics organization based in Lagos, Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, source, and purchase truck spare parts, maintenance tools, and logistics-related supplies in line with specifications
• Negotiate favorable terms including price, credit, delivery timeline, warranty, and after-sales service with suppliers
• Ensure purchases are made from approved and reliable vendors while exploring alternative sources when necessary
• Develop and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and service providers
• Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, delivery timelines, and compliance with agreements
• Conduct regular market surveys to monitor pricing trends, availability of genuine spare parts, and emerging suppliers
• Prepare and issue accurate Purchase Orders (PO), tracking their progress until final delivery and successful receipt
• Receive and review Purchase Requisitions (PR) for accuracy, technical specifications, and necessary approvals, particularly for specialized automotive parts
• Initiate and manage the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process, ensuring competitive bidding in line with company financial regulations and Nigerian procurement best practices
• Ensure all purchased spare parts and consumables meet required standards, technical specifications, and authenticity, preventing counterfeit or substandard supplies
• Coordinate with storekeepers and workshop supervisors to monitor spare parts stock levels and initiate timely replenishment to avoid vehicle downtime
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and ethical standards
• Ensure all local vendors comply with relevant Nigerian regulatory bodies
