Price Sourcing Officer

Position Overview

An established foodstuff company is seeking a Price Sourcing Officer to conduct regular and comprehensive market research to identify competitive prices for food items. The successful candidate will analyze pricing trends, gather data from multiple markets, and recommend cost-effective procurement options to support efficient stock management and ensure profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily and weekly market surveys across major markets in Lagos to source updated prices for food products
• Compare supplier and market pricing to identify the most cost-effective purchase options
• Monitor market trends, price fluctuations, and seasonal variations affecting food products
• Maintain an organized and up-to-date price database for all food items
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and improved procurement efficiency by sourcing different vendors for specific products

Requirements & Qualifications

• OND, NCE, or SSCE qualification
• Strong knowledge of Lagos markets, especially within and around Ikeja
• Must reside within or very close to Ikeja (mandatory)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to negotiate and gather real-time pricing information
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
