Poultry Technician at Roostline Farms

About the Role

A dynamic team is expanding and looking for the right talent to join their poultry operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor breeder flocks daily to ensure bird health, welfare, and production performance
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot farm equipment including feeders, drinkers, ventilation, lighting, and egg collection systems
• Perform routine electrical and mechanical maintenance on automated poultry housing and control systems
• Assist with egg collection, handling, and quality checks
• Maintain accurate flock records, including egg production, mortality, and feed consumption
• Support vaccination, biosecurity, and flock health programs under farm management direction
• Ensure compliance with animal welfare, health, and safety standards
• Collaborate with the farm manager on continuous improvement and preventative maintenance schedules

Required Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Animal Science, or related technical field (Mechanical/Electrical). Relevant hands-on experience in poultry farm operations may substitute for formal education
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in poultry breeder operations (preferred) or commercial poultry farming
• Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Experience with automated poultry housing systems is highly desired
• Ability to work with modern farm control systems (ventilation, feeding, and climate control)
