Poultry Manager at A&H Farms Ltd

About the Role

A&H Farms Ltd is seeking an intelligent and energetic Poultry Farm Manager to join our expanding team. The successful candidate will report to the business owner and manage our layers and broiler pen operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage layer and broiler pen house operations
• Supervise rearing of layers from day-old chick (DOC) to point of lay (POL)
• Supervise rearing of broilers from day-old until sale
• Work with the resident veterinarian to supervise, train, and coordinate activities of poultry attendants
• Manage rearing and caging of point of lay birds
• Coordinate eggs collection, storage, and transportation
• Ensure proper feeding of birds in assigned pens
• Observe birds and report any cases of diseases or infections to the resident veterinarian
• Maintain daily stock records of feeds, birds, and egg production
• Prepare worker attendance, egg production, and feed consumption reports
• Direct maintenance and repair of pen facilities and equipment

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum HND or Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or Veterinary Science
• 2 years of relevant work experience in poultry farming
• Proven experience rearing POL and broiler day-olds (compulsory)
• Recent hands-on experience in poultry farming
• Ability to make sound decisions in stressful environments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
