About the Role

A hotel porter provides essential guest services and support throughout the property. The role involves assisting guests with luggage, escorting them to their rooms, and providing information about hotel facilities and local attractions. Porters contribute to guest satisfaction and operational efficiency through a variety of tasks ranging from guest assistance to facility maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests and assist with luggage, escorting them to their rooms
• Answer questions about hotel facilities and local points of interest
• Arrange transportation services including taxis and airport transfers
• Make restaurant and other reservations as requested
• Park and retrieve guest vehicles, managing keys securely
• Run errands such as picking up dry cleaning or delivering messages
• Move furniture and equipment for events and set up rooms as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in public areas, including the lobby
• Perform security checks and assist with emergency procedures
• For night porters: Handle security, respond to guest requests during overnight shifts, and prepare the hotel for the following day

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license (required for positions involving driving guests or parking cars)
• Strong communication skills for interacting with guests and staff
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills for handling messages, bookings, and administrative tasks
