Planning Engineer at Sterling Oil Exploration & Energy Production Company Limited (SEEPCO)

Position Summary

A reputable organization is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Planning Engineer to support the successful delivery of an LNG project. The Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules, coordinating with cross-functional teams, analyzing project performance, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective execution of project phases.

Victoria Island, Lagos and Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom, Nigeria

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project in line with project execution plans
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to gather schedule inputs
• Monitor project progress and update schedules accordingly, identifying risks and proposing mitigation plans
• Perform critical path analysis, delay impact analysis, and progress measurement
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports including S-curves, histograms, and progress summaries
• Liaise with subcontractors and vendors to ensure alignment of their schedules with the master project schedule
• Participate in project review meetings and interface with project stakeholders
• Support cost forecasting by integrating schedule and cost data for earned value management (EVM)
• Ensure compliance with project standards, health, safety, and environmental (HSE), and quality requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline
• Minimum of 5 years of planning experience on LNG or oil and gas EPC projects
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Excel
• Familiarity with project control systems
• Knowledge of the project lifecycle in LNG projects, including FEED, EPC, and commissioning phases
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in Project Management
