About the Role
TAAS Group of Schools is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physics/Chemistry Teacher with strong expertise in practical teaching and student preparation for WAEC, NECO, and JAMB examinations.
The ideal candidate must have extensive classroom and laboratory experience, a passion for science education, and the ability to train and mentor students to achieve outstanding results.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Physics and Chemistry effectively at the senior secondary school level
- Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, and instructional materials aligned with WAEC, NECO, and JAMB standards
- Conduct engaging practical sessions in line with examination requirements, ensuring students are competent in laboratory skills
- Train and mentor students to excel in external examinations (WAEC, NECO, JAMB)
- Monitor and evaluate students' academic progress, providing feedback and extra support where necessary
- Maintain discipline, create a stimulating learning environment, and inspire students' interest in science
- Collaborate with colleagues and school management to improve academic outcomes
- Ensure safety and proper use of laboratory equipment and materials
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Physics, Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field (Master's degree is an added advantage)
- 5–10 years of proven teaching experience in Physics and Chemistry at the secondary school level
- Demonstrated expertise in practicals and hands-on laboratory instruction
- Excellent track record of preparing students for WAEC, NECO, and JAMB examinations
- Strong communication, classroom management, and mentoring skills
- Must reside in Ibadan, preferably within or close to the Apata region for accessibility
