## Title: Pharmacy Technician

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Lagos Executive Cardiovascular Clinic. This role is critical to supporting our pharmacy operations and ensuring excellent patient care through medication management, inventory control, and patient support.

Key Responsibilities

Medication Management

  • Fill medications based on prescriptions and prepare them for Pharmacists to dispense
  • Dispense over-the-counter (OTC) medications
  • Assist in compounding medications in coordination with the Pharmacist
  • Prepare emergency packs under the supervision of a Pharmacist

Inventory and Stock Management

  • Conduct routine stock counts and monitor expiring drugs
  • Arrange and stack drugs and consumables according to FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) guidelines
  • Ensure minimum stock levels are maintained appropriately
  • Assist in receiving medications from vendors
  • Maintain and update pharmacy checklists regularly

Patient Care and Follow-up

  • Bring patients into the pharmacy when necessary
  • Follow up with patients to ensure medication compliance
  • Report special cases to the Pharmacist on duty
  • Follow up on drugs delivered to patients
  • Provide emotional support and measures to alleviate patient fear and anxiety

Patient and Family Education

  • Assess patient and family readiness and identify learning needs
  • Develop and implement teaching plans utilizing patient education materials
  • Document patient and family education provided
  • Lead and encourage a multidisciplinary approach for patient discharge
  • Participate in voluntary community health activities to promote, maintain, and restore health and prevent diseases

General Duties

  • Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and ensure dispensing materials are available
  • Provide consumables to nurses and doctors when needed
  • Conduct group responsibilities accurately and on time
  • Assist the Pharmacist with any other required duties
