About the Role
This position offers a meaningful opportunity to advance healthcare quality and patient safety within a hospital setting. The role often serves as a steppingstone to higher positions in quality management and clinical governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in designing multidisciplinary processes for Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives and facilitate multidisciplinary teams to enhance effectiveness
- Contribute to improving organisational systems for performance and risk management
- Complete quality reviews and studies for presentation to committees
- Support systems for implementing Clinical Safety (CS) and Risk Management (RM) Plans
- Develop statistical reports and conduct data analysis for the QI cycle
- Act on various hospital committees, including clinical governance, to provide support and knowledge on QA, RM, and CS
- Review sentinel events and near-misses with medical staff; conduct case summaries and prepare reports for Quality Management (QM) or RM
- Coordinate thorough analyses and ensure timely follow-up on incidents and events, supporting peer reviews and Professional Practice Evaluations
- Recommend changes based on evaluation results and implement initiatives to assess the need for change
- Analyse reports from the Patient Safety Event Reporting program and collaborate on investigations
- Manage follow-up responses to third parties and patient grievances
- Support the Occupational Health Nurse in achieving compliance with safety regulations
- Assist in staff education on QM, CS, and RM topics
- Collaborate with the Regulatory Compliance Officer to meet regulatory requirements
- Manage and report data from the event reporting system and other sources
