Nurse / Midwife at St Luke's Hospital Asaba

About the Role

As a Nurse/Midwife at St Luke's Hospital Asaba, you will report to the hospital's matron and play a crucial role in the day-to-day management of patients. You will take an active role in overseeing and assisting patients in sustaining and maintaining their health and wellbeing, and may participate directly in care when services are initially implemented.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement nursing care plans for patients in designated work stations
• Assist the medical team in patients' diagnosis and treatment
• Perform clinical procedures including:
  • Patient admission and discharge
  • Taking patient histories
  • Monitoring vital signs with necessary follow-up
  • Wound dressings
  • Administering medication
  • IV placement and insertions
• Provide additional assistance as needed for patient care
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of patient encounters
• Promptly report incidents and manage patient grievances
• Maintain a clean and safe environment at all times
• Comply with Standard Operating Procedures and hospital policies
• Adhere to quality standards in all nursing activities

Qualifications & Requirements

• Double qualification as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Registered Midwife (RM)
• Valid Nursing Practicing License
• Computer literacy
• Good organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to handle stress and crisis situations effectively
