Nurse Assistant / Auxiliary Nurse at St Dominic Catholic Hospital

Job Summary

The Nurse Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the nursing team to provide high-quality patient care. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Nurse Assistant will assist with basic nursing care, perform routine tasks, and ensure the comfort and well-being of patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with basic patient care needs, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Take and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure
• Help patients with mobility, transfers, and positioning
• Assist with feeding, serving meals, and ensuring patients have access to water and other fluids
• Maintain a clean and safe environment, including patient rooms and common areas
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Accurately document patient information and care provided

Requirements

• HND, OND, SSCE, GCE, or NECO qualification
• 2–5 years of work experience
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Physical ability to lift, move, and transfer patients safely

Working Conditions

• Work Environment: Hospital or healthcare facility
• Shift Work: May include day, evening, night, or rotating shifts
