Network & Implementation Engineer at IT Horizons Limited

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Network & Implementation Engineer to provide comprehensive support to our organization's network, security, voice, and server infrastructure. This hands-on role requires an engineer who can design, implement, and troubleshoot across multiple domains while ensuring uptime, security, and performance for critical business systems.

Core Responsibilities

Network Operations

• Manage and support LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and SD-WAN infrastructure
• Configure and support Aruba network switches, Aruba gateway, wireless access points, and Aruba ClearPass
• Implement and monitor VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), and QoS policies
• Troubleshoot latency, packet loss, and connectivity issues

Security & Firewall Management

• Manage and support Fortigate and Palo Alto firewalls
• Administer Aruba ClearPass Network Access Control Solution
• Manage site-to-site VPNs, remote access VPNs, and secure tunneling
• Monitor logs, IDS/IPS alerts, and ensure compliance with security best practices
• Apply patches, harden systems, and conduct vulnerability remediation

Voice & Unified Communications

• Maintain enterprise telephony and UC platforms
• Manage SIP trunks, voice gateways, dial plans, and call routing

Server & Infrastructure Management

• Administer Windows and Linux servers (on-premise and virtualized)
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file/print services
• Maintain VMware and Hyper-V clusters and ensure high availability
• Implement and monitor backup and disaster recovery solutions

Monitoring & Maintenance

• Deploy and manage monitoring tools (CheckMK, SolarWinds, PRTG, etc.)
• Track bandwidth utilization, uptime SLAs, and performance trends
• Document changes, configurations, and incident resolutions
• Provide L2/L3 escalation support for critical incidents
• Conduct periodic preventive maintenance activities to maintain optimal network infrastructure performance

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline
• 4–6 years of hands-on experience in network engineering and infrastructure support
