We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates. Position Overview:
  • Harvest Feeds and Agro Processing Ltd is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Microbiologist to support quality control and food/feed safety within our agro-processing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for microbiological analysis, hygiene monitoring, and ensuring products meet regulatory and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process, and finished products
  • Monitor hygiene, sanitation, and environmental conditions within the plant
  • Carry out water quality and environmental microbial tests
  • Ensure compliance with food/feed safety standards and regulations
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records, reports, and documentation
  • Investigate contamination issues and recommend corrective actions
  • Support quality assurance and production teams on hygiene practices
  • Prepare samples for external laboratory analysis when required
  • Assist during regulatory inspections and audits
Requirements:
  • BSc in Microbiology or related biological sciences
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a food, feed, agro-processing, or manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of microbiological testing methods and laboratory procedures
  • Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, and hygiene standards
  • Ability to work independently and with production teams
  • Good documentation and reporting skills
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Added Advantage
  • Experience in feed mills, starch, syrup, or agro-processing plants
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (NAFDAC, SON, ISO, HACCP)
  • Professional certification or laboratory training
