Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled MHPSS Officer to support the delivery of mental health and psychosocial support services to vulnerable individuals and communities affected by crisis. The role focuses on strengthening resilience, improving emotional well-being, and ensuring safe referral for individuals with specialized mental health needs.
Work Locations
This position is based in the following areas:
- Borno State (MMC and Jere)
- Adamawa State (Madagali)
- Yobe State (Fune)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group psychosocial support sessions
- Deliver Psychological First Aid (PFA) where required
- Facilitate structured support groups and community-based PSS activities
- Identify individuals requiring specialized mental health care and support referrals
- Conduct community awareness sessions on stress management, coping skills, and stigma reduction
- Maintain confidential case files and documentation
- Support training of community volunteers on basic psychosocial support
- Collect data and contribute to activity and donor reports
- Ensure safeguarding, confidentiality, and do-no-harm principles are upheld
- Support the implementation and promotion of gender, age, and diversity principles during all activities
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or Mental Health
