A reputable organization seeks a dedicated individual for this role. Position Overview:
  • We are currently seeking to employ a suitably qualified Records Officer, responsible for accurately collecting new patients’ information and uploading on the EMR as well as properly filing hard copy of the information.
  • Maintaining quality and accurate records by following hospital procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
  • The Records officer is responsible for gathering patient demographic and personal information and imputing same on the EMR.
  • Reviews patients' records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulations.
  • Posting of patients’ file/folder to the appropriate department of care assessment
  • Manages the generation, preservation, and retrieval of medical records whenever they are needed
  • Ensures elaborate and accurate medical records are available at all times.
  • Compiles monthly medical statistical reports for statutory and reporting purposes.
  • Ensuring that all medical records are protected and kept confidential
  • He/she must ensure that every patient that sees the doctor or receives any other treatments is billed appropriately and that the payment is made to the cashier.
  • Ensures that bills sent out are correct and corresponds with the treatment given and received by the patient.
  • Ensures that every HMO patient whose platform is not covered for the required treatment is treated as either a private patient and/or get adequate code from the company before commencement of treatment.
  • Any other duty as may be officially assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Candidate must possess an HND / B.sc qualification in Medical Records from a recognized institution.
  • HMO Experience is required.
  • Valid practicing license from the relevant body is mandatory.
