About the Role
This position offers a great opportunity for career growth. The Medical Laboratory Technician will assist in completing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in phlebotomy and sample reception, with knowledge of molecular tests being an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform blood collection and phlebotomy procedures from patients attending the laboratory
- Travel to various locations within and outside the town for sample collection purposes
- Receive and collect urine, blood, and other samples for experimentation and analysis
- Market laboratory products and services to prospective clients through various communication channels and visits
- Maintain and operate laboratory equipment with proficiency
- Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies
- Organize and store all chemical substances, fluids, and compressed gases according to safety instructions
- Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and orderly laboratory environment
- Maintain laboratory quality assurance and safety standards
- Provide front-line customer service support for incoming and outgoing calls from customers, clients, prospective clients, and doctors/medical centres requesting lab results
- Participate in company marketing and branding campaigns
- Coordinate courier services for sample delivery
- Maintain professional and courteous behavior to ensure customer satisfaction
- Perform all duties with understanding and respect for patient rights and strict confidentiality
- Perform other related duties as required
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience
- Registered with the Medical Laboratory Technician Council of Nigeria
- Proficiency in phlebotomy and sample reception
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent record-keeping skills
